Giordana Women's FR-C Tri Doppio Suit

The Giordana Women's FR-C Tri Doppio Suit is a short-sleeve triathlon suit that Giordana describes as a cross between a skinsuit and a separate jersey and shorts. It draws on the aero work done by professional road racers and is built for riders who care about speed.

Why a Doppio

The top is sewn to the bottom, so the jersey wrapped around the shoulders helps hold the legs and chamois in place however wet you are or how much you move. Giordana also notes that this stretches the top for better aerodynamics and keeps the pockets from sagging when they are loaded. The front zipper is full length and sits free of the bottoms, which Giordana says makes the suit less binding when you are running or answering the call of nature. A flap behind the zipper prevents abrasion.

Fabrics and fit

All the top panels use High Speed Light Lycra, UPF 35+, woven with stripes that act as virtual trip wires to improve airflow over the body. The bottoms are a medium-compression Lycra Power, UPF 50+, treated with a DWR finish to limit water absorption and keep the fabric durable even when soaked in chlorinated water. A tri-specific chamois, with an aloe vera-infused top layer, is attached with Tri-Stitch sewing for durability. Contoured panels at the waist, sleeves and legs secure the suit, internal silicone tape on the sleeves and legs grips the skin without digging in, and 7.5cm Stay Put bands at the leg hems keep pressure off the legs.

Pockets

Two side-access mesh pockets at the back can swallow anything from gels to a vest and warmers, while two front pockets on the shorts hold bars and gels out of the way of your legs. The suit is made in Italy, comes in white and black, and is available in sizes XS through 2XL. It is also part of the Giordana Custom program.
