ENVE Melee V2

Fast is fun. Hold nothing back.

ENVE Melee V2

ENVE built its name on wheels and cockpits, so a frame from ENVE raised eyebrows at first, ours included. The Melee, introduced in 2022, answered that, and the original was a race winner at the 2024 Tour de France. The V2 asks one question: how much faster can a race frame get without asking the rider to give anything up?

Real World Fast

ENVE tested the Melee V2 with a rider on board, in the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS wind tunnel at Silverstone with aerodynamicist Simon Smart. Tube shapes tuned on their own miss what legs, bottles and wheels do to the air. ENVE's number is 17 watts faster than the original Melee, 11.4 of them from the frame, fork and seatpost. Surface area across those three parts is down 7.5 percent.

Ultralight Black

The UL Black finish is a clear coat over raw carbon with minimal graphics, ENVE's way of saving weight where paint would add it. A size 56cm frame comes in under 800 grams. That is the starting point for everything else on the bike.

Threaded bottom bracket

A BSA threaded bottom bracket replaces the T47 press-fit of the original Melee. ENVE says it cuts bottom bracket weight by roughly 30 percent.

Disc brakes and thru-axles

Flat mount disc brakes, with 12x100mm front and 12x142mm rear thru-axles. The frame is built around modern disc brakes and electronic shifting.

Airfoil handlebar

ENVE's SES Aero V2 one-piece handlebar uses an airfoil shape in the drops and a thin 1.2 mm tape. ENVE credits the bar and tape with about 3 watts.

Cleaner front end

ENVE redesigned the headset around smaller bearings. The result is a tidier front end and a frame that looks as fast as it rides.

UDH hanger and tire clearance

A UDH derailleur hanger keeps the frame compatible with SRAM's current wireless drivetrains. Tires fit up to 33mm, with 31mm the sweet spot for the handling ENVE intended.

Fast is fun. A race bike that does not hold back.

Speed Is a System

The wind tunnel showed that speed goes beyond the frame. Rider position, legs, bottles, cages and wheels all shape the airflow, so every piece had to work together. ENVE's SES Aero bottle cages are worth 2.6 watts on their own. Our take: this is why ENVE builds bikes. A frame designed alongside the wheels, the cockpit and the cages is where the Melee V2 makes sense.

Mission 6.8

ENVE says a size 56cm UL Black Melee V2 can reach 6.8 kg complete, the UCI minimum, with a SRAM Red build.
