Giordana designed the Giordana Women's AV Extreme Jacket for riders who need real cold-weather defense without a bulky jacket. The name comes from Aqua e Vento, water and wind, and the lining is soft insulation that Giordana says delivers the performance of much heavier jackets.
Warmth and weather resistance
Insulation is a 110g PrimaLoft layer made from recycled materials, behind a high-density, durable outer fabric with a DWR Hydro CO treatment for water and wind resistance. Giordana calls the fit slightly relaxed yet body conforming, with slight elasticity for flexibility. The intent is to wear it over a very lightweight thermal jersey or a winter base layer, which keeps the bulk down.
Features
The collar is high and fleece lined, with soft elastic cuffs at the wrists and a straight-cut waistband. A longer drop tail sits below the rear pockets, and there are three external rear pockets with gussets and drainage. Reflective accents, including highly reflective dual stripes on the rear pocket, help you stay visible when the light fades.
The front closes with a two-way windproof zipper. The women's AV Extreme is made in Italy, in black and khaki, sizes XS to 3XL. Giordana recommends a cold machine wash at 30° C, no bleach, no ironing, and hanging or laying it flat to dry.
