Capo Super Corsa Thermo Roubaix Bib Knickers Info

The Capo Super Corsa Thermo Roubaix Bib Knickers are insulated bib knickers that Capo designed for rides in the 50 to 60 degree F range. They are made from Italian Thermo Roubaix fabric with an anatomic pattern, and Capo set out to keep the insulation light and stretchy so you stay outside when it cools off.

This season's update

Capo redesigned the front panel to be seamless, which it says removes chafing, and added an articulated knee and fewer seams overall. The medium-gauge compression is meant to support working muscles, and the wide 45mm elastic at the lower edge has silicone gripper dots to hold it in place.

Bib and chamois

The uppers are 360 degree stretch mesh, which Capo designed to secure the bib without binding, and they come from the Padrone Aero line. The chamois is the Road Performance EIT, a multi-density elastic foam insert. Reflective inserts and a heat transfer logo add visibility when daylight fades. The fabric is 86% polyamide and 14% elastane, made in Italy, in sizes XS through XXL.

The RA Perspective

Bib knickers fill the gap between shorts and full tights, and this pair is aimed squarely at that gap. Capo rates it for 50 to 60 degrees F, so think of it as the answer to a cool fall morning or a spring ride that starts in the 50s and warms up.

The details are where Capo put its effort. The seamless front, articulated knee and reduced seam count all target comfort over a long ride. The 45mm hem with silicone grippers is also a good sign, since a hem that rides up on a knicker defeats the point. The chamois is the Road Performance EIT, and the bib uppers come from the Padrone Aero line, so this is built to be worn all day.

The tradeoff is the temperature range. It is a light insulation garment, so it is not the pair to wear in the 30s. If the forecast is colder, the Super Corsa Thermo Roubaix Bib Tights, rated lower, are a better call. Because compression is part of the design, sizing matters, and the fit should feel snug rather than loose.

This is the pair for riders who want to keep cycling outside through the shoulder seasons without committing to full-length tights.
