Designed specifically for Shimano mountain bike cranksets with a removable spider, this CAMO spider creates a highly adaptable platform for riders who want maximum drivetrain performance with minimal maintenance effort.

CAMO—short for Chainline And Material Optimization—separates the chainring from the spider, allowing each component to be built from the ideal material with the ideal geometry. This means you can upgrade or replace chainrings without purchasing an entire direct-mount ring, saving cost while gaining flexibility. Switching from round to oval, aluminum to stainless steel, or between tooth counts takes just a few minutes using five small bolts. The system also ensures a precise Boost chainline for quieter operation, improved wear characteristics, and smooth shifting.

Color options make it easy to match the spider to your bike’s accents, and when paired with a CAMO chainring, you benefit from Wolf Tooth’s patented Drop-Stop® wide/narrow tooth technology for superior chain retention and mud-shedding performance on rough, wet, or dusty trails.

Wolf Tooth CAMO Direct Mount Spider for Shimano Specs

Compatibility: For Shimano MTB cranksets with a removable spider; not compatible with XTR 9100-1, 9100-2, or 9130 narrow Q-factor versions.

Chainline: Boost chainline; M5 offset (dished 5 mm toward the frame).

CAMO System: Requires a CAMO chainring (round or oval, aluminum or stainless).

Installation: Access chainring bolts without removing spider; alignment dots ensure correct orientation.

Torque: 4–5 Nm with blue Loctite.

Weight: 28 g.

Material: 7075-T6 aluminum.

Included Hardware: ED-coated steel bolts.

Made in the USA: Precision-machined in Minnesota.

Design Benefits

Perfect chainline: CAMO design optimizes alignment for smoother shifting and reduced drivetrain wear.

Cost-effective chainring swaps: Replace only the chainring, not the full direct-mount assembly.

Fast installation: Five small bolts make chainring changes quick and intuitive.

Customizable look and feel: Mix and match CAMO spiders and chainrings for your preferred style and performance.

Final Take

The Wolf Tooth CAMO Direct Mount Spider for Shimano unlocks a smarter, more modular approach to chainring setup.
