sram-xx-eagle-t-type-crankset-q174
SRAM XX Eagle T-Type Crankset Q174

The SRAM XX Eagle T-Type Crankset Q174 sits at the top of SRAM's mountain drivetrain lineup, built for riders who demand the lightest, most precise power transfer available in a 12-speed Eagle system. The Q174 spindle interface is designed for wider bottom bracket shells common on modern mountain bikes, ensuring proper chainline alignment with T-Type drivetrains. This is the crankset that professional cross country and endurance racers have leaned on at the highest level of competition.

The arms are constructed with a carbon fiber foam core — a design intended to strip grams without compromising torsional stiffness under hard pedaling efforts. That structure matters most when you're sprinting out of a technical section or grinding up a sustained climb where any flex in the drivetrain translates directly to lost watts. The T-Type compatibility means the 32-tooth chainring is engineered to work within SRAM's wider-spaced tooth profile and Transmission ecosystem, which uses a different engagement standard than traditional Eagle drivetrains. Available in 165mm, 170mm, and 175mm crank arm lengths, the fit can be dialed to your anatomy and riding discipline — shorter arms for cross country efficiency, longer for trail riders who prioritize leverage.

SRAM XX Eagle T-Type Crankset Q174 Specs at a Glance

System compatibility: SRAM T-Type Eagle Transmission drivetrain

Chainring size: 32 teeth

Spindle interface: Q174 (T-Type specific)

Arm material: Carbon fiber with foam core construction

Crank arm lengths available: 165mm, 170mm, 175mm

Speeds: 12-speed

Finish: Matte black

Design Benefits

Carbon foam core arms for a performance weight target: The hollow foam core structure within the carbon arms is designed to remove material where it isn't structurally necessary, keeping the crankset at the lower end of the weight range for full-carbon mountain cranks without creating a flexy, imprecise feel underfoot.

Purpose-built for the T-Type Transmission system: Unlike standard Eagle cranks, this crankset is engineered specifically for SRAM's T-Type Transmission ecosystem. The chainring tooth profile and spindle design are intended to work in concert with T-Type rear derailleurs and cassettes — mixing components outside that system is not recommended and may affect shifting performance.

Multiple crank arm lengths for fit flexibility: Choosing the right crank length affects your hip angle, pedaling cadence, and clearance on technical terrain. The three available lengths let you match the crankset to your body and how you ride — whether that's a 165mm for a high-cadence XC setup or a 175mm for a more powerful, leverage-focused position on enduro-style trails.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/7684/9196/files/sram-xx-eagle-t-type-crankset-q174-7721223.jpg?v=1771296553
