It's a concentrated biodegradable degreaser combined with a wax adhesion promoter, designed to strip a factory-greased chain and prime it for wax lubrication in a single step, in under ten minutes.

The process is straightforward: immerse the chain for 30 seconds, let it sit for 5–10 minutes, repeat, then rinse with water. Drop it into hot wax and any remaining liquid boils off. The adhesion promoter means the wax bonds to the metal properly from the start — which, according to Silca, translates to roughly 30 percent longer chain life compared to skipping the prep step.

Silca Chain Stripper and Wax Prep Specs at a Glance

Size: 16oz

Formula: Concentrated biodegradable degreaser with wax adhesion promoter

Prep time: Under 10 minutes

Compatible with: Hot wax chain lubrication systems

Claimed benefit: Up to 30% longer chain life (manufacturer claim)

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/7684/9196/files/silca-chain-stripper-and-wax-prep-16oz-4804863.jpg?v=1771295227
