The SGS long cage handles cassettes up to 51T, making it well-suited to steep climbs and big-range setups.

Shimano's integrated stabilizer mechanism reduces chain slap and resists drops on rough, choppy trails — the kind of riding where an unsuppressed chain costs you momentum and focus. The 13T oversized pulleys improve chain efficiency and tracking across the full cassette range, while a cage bumper absorbs impact and keeps shifts quick even after hard landings. Tension management across the gear range is designed to keep engagement smooth in both the largest and smallest cogs, reducing that slack feeling in easier gears that plagues lesser derailleurs.

Shimano XT RD-M8100-SGS Rear Derailleur Specs at a Glance

Weight: 284g

Material: Aluminum

Speeds: 12-speed

Max Cassette: 10-51T

Pulley Size: 13T, sealed bearing, SGS cage

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/7684/9196/files/shimano-xt-rd-m8100-sgs-rear-derailleur-6133287.jpg?v=1771297270
