The material is supple, stretch-resistant, and barely absorbs  water. Shimano rates it a 7 on their  stiffness scale. More rigidity than an enduro midsole, but less rigid than a  full-on cross-country midsole. This is goes for people who need to do light  bike hiking, like in ‘cross races, or walking around the cafe post ride, or  cycle-touring, or commuting.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sole rubber has been developed with  Michelin. While it covers the entire bottom of the s hoe, the tread blocks are  more cross-country oriented, with space between them to let mud and rocks fall  out easily. The toes are complemented with threaded spike mounts. the s hoes  come standard with super-short 18mm resin spikes, or rather spike-lets, short  enough to walk on and still provide some support.
