rotor-qx1-chainring
Rotor QX1 Chainring

The Rotor QX1 Chainring is built around the premise that a round chainring doesn't match how your legs actually produce power. Rotor applies 12.5% ovality to the ring, which means the effective gear size varies across your pedal stroke — larger through the strongest phase of your push, smaller through the dead spots at top and bottom. The result is a more even application of force to the rear wheel, which matters both for raw output and for maintaining traction on loose or technical terrain.

The QX1 is designed for 1x drivetrain setups, so there are no shift ramps or chain-catching pegs — the teeth are taller with an alternating thick-thin profile to keep the chain locked on through rough descents and square-edged hits. Three mounting positions let you dial the oval's orientation to your individual pedaling style, shifting the power phase forward or back depending on where you naturally generate the most force. The ring is CNC-machined from 7075 aluminum, available in 76 BCD across five tooth counts from 28t to 36t.

Rotor QX1 Chainring Specs at a Glance

BCD: 76mm

Tooth counts: 28t, 30t, 32t, 34t, 36t

Ovality: 12.5%

Material: CNC-machined 7075 aluminum

Compatibility: 1x drivetrains — narrow-wide tooth profile, no shift ramps
