It replaces the stock pulley cage with 13-tooth and 19-tooth aluminum pulley wheels — larger than Shimano's stock pulleys, which reduces how sharply the chain has to bend as it travels through the derailleur and cuts down on friction at the source.

Each pulley runs on CeramicSpeed's coated ceramic bearings, with hardened stainless steel races and a metallic coating that CeramicSpeed states makes the bearing rings 75% harder than standard steel. The cage is carbon fiber reinforced polyamide, chosen for a stiff, lightweight structure that holds the pulleys in precise alignment. All told the system weighs around 77 grams. CeramicSpeed's own testing puts the friction reduction at 30-60% over a stock Shimano pulley setup, translating to a claimed savings of roughly 2.4 watts — a manufacturer figure from their lab testing rather than an independently verified number, though the combination of larger pulleys and ceramic bearings is a well-established way to reduce drivetrain drag.

This is a component built for Shimano's previous-generation 11-speed Dura-Ace and Ultegra Di2 or mechanical groupsets, not the current 12-speed 9200/9250 lineup, so it's worth confirming which generation your bike runs before ordering. At $449.25, marked down from $599, it's a way to get CeramicSpeed's coated bearing technology and a distinctive gold finish at a discount on an older but still widely-ridden groupset generation. It's backed by CeramicSpeed's lifetime warranty on coated products.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/7684/9196/files/ceramicspeed-oversized-ceramic-pulley-wheel-system-limited-gold-shimano-dura-ace-9100-4622860.jpg?v=1771301707
https://ricycles.com/products/ceramicspeed-oversized-ceramic-pulley-wheel-system-limited-gold-shimano-dura-ace-9100
