Vegetable-tanned leather stretched over a steel frame — the same construction Brooks has used for over a century — means this saddle moulds gradually to your anatomy rather than asking you to adapt to it.

That break-in period is real. The leather starts firm and softens over time with regular riding, eventually forming a shape that's yours alone. Keep it treated — avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and direct sunlight, and use a dedicated leather conditioner to maintain the surface. A saddle that's looked after will outlast most of the bikes it gets fitted to.

Brooks B17 Standard Short Saddle Specs at a Glance

Material: Vegetable-tanned leather

Rails: Steel

Shell: Steel

Colours available: Black, Brown, Honey

Designed for: Shorter sit bone width — a trimmed variant of the B17 Standard

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0608/7684/9196/files/brooks-b17-standard-short-saddle-3130917.jpg?v=1771302011
