Partington R-Series Performance Ti 65/65 Wheelset Info
The Partington R-Series Performance Ti 65/65 Wheelset is a deep-section carbon disc brake wheelset from Australian wheel builder Partington. It uses 65mm-deep rims front and rear, a wide 34mm outer profile, and a hub with ceramic bearings and a titanium ratchet system. Partington says the R-Series was designed, developed, tested and manufactured in Australia, with wind tunnel testing at SASI in Adelaide.
Rim Design and Construction
The rims are Partington's AERON carbon, a multi-material composite built with Toray fibers around a PMI foam core. Foam-core construction is used to shape a deep rim while managing weight and impact resistance. The result is a claimed wheelset weight of 1,265 grams, give or take 1 percent, which is light for a 65mm-deep carbon road wheel.
The profile is wide. Inner width is 23mm and outer width is 34mm. Wide rims shape airflow around the tire and also support a larger tire at lower pressure. Partington lists 28mm as the minimum tire size and 32mm as the maximum. That range suits modern road tires and a bit of rough pavement. The rim works as a clincher or tubeless setup, with an 87 psi maximum tire pressure. Check your tire manufacturer's pressure guidance alongside that figure.
PERFORM Hub and Titanium Ratchet
The wheelset runs Partington's PERFORM hub, which is machined from aluminum with an anodized black finish. Inside, the hub uses ceramic bearings and a titanium ratchet system. Ceramic bearings are chosen for smooth rolling and long service intervals, and a titanium ratchet adds durability where the freehub engages. The "Ti" in this wheelset's name points to that ratchet. Spoke count is 18 front and 21 rear, a lean pattern that keeps weight down on a wheel built for road riding.
Braking is Centerlock disc only, so you need rotors and a frame and fork set up for it. The wheelset is rated for riders up to 242 pounds.
Drivetrain Compatibility and Finishes
Partington offers this wheelset with three freehub choices: Campagnolo N3W, HG11 for Shimano and SRAM 11-speed, and XDR for SRAM's XD-R driver. Pick the one that matches your cassette before ordering, since it sets what drivetrain the wheels support. There are three finishes: Strong Dark, Strong White and Subtle White.
What Comes in the Box
Each wheel ships with a lockring, a valve, a bidon, a wheel bag and an exercise towel. That is a thoughtful set of extras for a wheelset at this price.
Who It's For
A 65mm-deep wheel suits flat and rolling courses, fast group rides, criteriums and triathlon-style road riding, where aerodynamic gain matters more than the lightest possible climbing weight. Riders who live in steep terrain or in strong, gusty crosswinds may prefer a shallower rim, and Partington also offers the R-Series in a 50mm depth. If you want a deep carbon wheelset with a wide profile, a tubeless-ready rim and a high-end hub from a builder working in Australia, the R-Series Performance Ti 65/65 is built for that rider.
