Giordana Women's Activewear 7/8 Tight Info

The Giordana Women's Activewear 7/8 Tight is a padless high-waist tight in a medium-compression circular knit. Giordana designed it for high muscle support with outstanding freedom of movement, and it has a soft, sleek finish.

Fabric and construction

The fabric is 70% polyamide and 30% elastane (Lycra) at 175 g/sq m. Giordana lists it as breathable, quick drying, and resistant to pilling, snags and abrasion. It also carries a UPF 50+ rating. Ergonomic paneling keeps seams to a minimum.

Fit and details

A high waist gives comfort and support, and a hidden pocket at the back of the waistband holds a phone or small valuables. There is no chamois, so these work as a training, studio or everyday tight, or as a layer over your own liner shorts.

The tight is made in Italy and comes in black, lavender, navy and petrol, in sizes 2XS through 3XL. Care is a machine wash at 40° C with no bleach, or a hand wash at 30° C. Iron at a low temperature, and hang or lay flat to dry.

This is a padless activewear tight, so it fits into a rider's wardrobe as a cross-training or off-bike piece as much as a cycling garment. The medium-compression fabric is meant to give muscle support, and Giordana lists the circular-knit material as breathable and quick drying.

The high waist and hidden back pocket make it easy to use for walks, gym sessions or a warm-up, and the pocket is big enough for a phone or other valuables without carrying a bag. The padless build also makes them simple to wash and wear often. The ergonomic paneling keeps seams to a minimum, and UPF 50+ is a useful bonus if you are training outdoors.

The tradeoff is simple: there is no chamois. If you plan to ride in them, wear your own liner or bib shorts underneath. Giordana lists the fabric weight at 175 g/sq m, so expect a medium-weight tight rather than a thermal one, and the 7/8 length leaves the ankle uncovered in cooler weather. That makes them a better fit for mild days and indoor work than for a cold-morning ride.
