Giordana Men's FR-C Tri Jersey Info

The Giordana Men's FR-C Tri Jersey is the FR-C Pro Triathlon Short Sleeve Jersey in men's sizing, a racing and training top Giordana adapted from what professional cycling teams wear at the hardest events. Colors are white and black, and sizes run S through 3XL.

Giordana calls the fit a second skin and says it gets you as aero as possible without moving to a race suit. Part of that is how the jersey is put together. Aside from the zipper, the front panels, shoulders and arms have almost no seams, which lets the fabric pull tight over the torso and arms without bunching. The front is waffled Borgini, UPF 15+, chosen for stretch and wicking, as in the jerseys pro riders wear.

The back is where this jersey departs from a standard road racing top. It uses Aero High Speed Light Lycra, UPF 35+, woven with a striped texture that Giordana designed to improve airflow, and it supports the rest of the jersey so everything stays in place. Mesh Aliseo fabric with generous stretch is used on the hips, under the arms and for the pockets.

Smaller details support the fit. The zipper runs the full length of the front with a zipper garage at the top to prevent chafing. Overlock stitching keeps seams small, and 5cm Stay Put bands on the sleeves and below the pockets hold the hem down. The two pockets open from the sides, which suits both riding and running. The jersey is made in Italy and is part of the Giordana Custom program.

The RA Perspective

We think of this as the tri jersey for the athlete who races in a two-piece setup. It borrows its construction from pro road kits: a nearly seamless front, waffled Borgini fabric for wicking, and a striped back panel that Giordana designed for better airflow. Compared with a loose training jersey, the difference is in how little the fabric moves once you are tucked in.

The side-access pockets make sense for triathlon. You can reach a gel without twisting, and the same openings work when you are running. The wide Stay Put bands help the hem stay down after a wet transition, which is where lesser jerseys tend to ride up.

The tradeoff is fit. Giordana describes it as a second skin, and that means a close cut that leaves little room for a base layer or for a few extra pounds of race-week weight. Riders who like a relaxed fit on long training rides may find it tight. The aero-textured fabric is on the back panel only, so we would treat it as a small advantage, not a replacement for a full tri suit.

It is the right call for men who race triathlon or duathlon and want a top that also works as an everyday training jersey. If you ride mostly for fitness and do not race, a standard road jersey with a more forgiving cut will be easier to wear.
