Capo Super Corsa Wind Jacket Info

The Capo Super Corsa Wind Jacket is a lightweight cycling jacket that Capo designed for mild to cold conditions. It completes the Super Corsa kit and acts as a barrier on cool morning rides and long descents, then stores in a jersey pocket when it warms up.

Membrane and mesh

The main fabric is a Windtex membrane that is windproof and water-resistant, yet compact enough to fit in a jersey pocket. The side panels and the backs of the arms use V Mesh for breathability, which also helps the jacket sit well on the bike.

Zipper and storage

A two-way YKK camlock zipper lets you adjust thermal regulation on the fly. Three rear pockets give you storage on longer rides, and Capo waist elastic maintains the fit. Reflective inserts add visibility. The jacket is made in Italy, comes in black, and is sized S through XXL.

The RA Perspective

If you already ride in Super Corsa kit, this is the jacket that goes with it. It is a wind layer first, built from a Windtex membrane that blocks wind and sheds some moisture, and it folds down small enough to ride in a jersey pocket until you need it.

The V Mesh at the sides and the backs of the arms is what separates this from a plain shell. Those areas let heat out, so the jacket is less likely to feel like a plastic bag when you start working on a climb. The two-way zipper is a good partner for it, because you can open it from the bottom to vent while keeping the neck closed.

As for the tradeoffs, it is water resistant, not waterproof, so it copes with light spray and drizzle but not a long soaking. It is also not an insulated jacket. On a really cold day you will need a base layer or thermal jersey under it, and Capo describes it as suited to mild to cold conditions rather than deep winter.

We would call it the jacket for cool starts, windy ridges and long descents, and a good fit for riders who want one light layer to keep on hand.
