Capo LTD Acquerello SC Long Sleeve Jersey Info

The Capo LTD Acquerello SC Long Sleeve Jersey is a mid-weight long-sleeve jersey that Capo designed for everything from long base training sessions to high-tempo efforts. It is made in Italy and comes in two colorways, Light Green - Blue and Blue - Light Grey, in sizes XS through XXL.

Two fabrics, split by job

The chest and back use a smooth-faced, brushed microfiber, which Capo says keeps temperature consistent through the core of the jersey. The sleeves are an open, breathable knit that Capo built for airflow and unrestricted movement. Putting the warmer fabric on the torso and the lighter knit on the arms is how the jersey is meant to hold warmth while still managing heat and moisture once the effort goes up.

Temperature range and details

Capo lists the jersey for 40 to 60°F and points to layering for added flexibility on either side of that range. A medium-height collar adds coverage at the neck, a full-length YKK camlock zipper lets you adjust ventilation on the move, and Capo waist elastic holds the hem in place. Storage is three rear pockets.

If you are looking for one long-sleeve jersey to cover the cool-weather riding in between summer kit and winter kit, this is the weight Capo built it for.

The RA Perspective

This is a jersey for the part of the year when a short-sleeve kit is too little and a jacket is too much. Capo rates it for 40 to 60°F, and that range covers most spring and fall group rides, plus the long base miles that make up a good share of any training block.

What we like about the construction is the split. The brushed microfiber on the chest and back keeps your core warm, while the open knit on the sleeves gives your arms room and lets heat out when the pace climbs. A full-length camlock zipper and a medium collar give you easy ways to adjust, and the three rear pockets handle the usual load of food, a phone and a spare layer.

The tradeoff is wind. Nothing in Capo's description calls this jersey windproof, so at the cold end of its range, or on a long descent after a climb, you will want a base layer underneath or a vest over the top. Capo itself suggests layering to extend the range, and we agree with that. At the warm end, near 60°F, the jersey is doing about all it can, and a short-sleeve jersey with arm warmers may suit you better.

We would reach for it on a steady 50-degree morning when you want to leave the house in one piece and not think about it again until you are home.
