Look G85 Cezal RS Red XPLR AXS Bike Info
The Look G85 Cezal RS Red XPLR AXS Bike is Look's race-oriented gravel bike, built around a high modulus carbon frame and a full SRAM Red XPLR AXS wireless group. Look has been building carbon bikes in France since the early 1980s and has a long record in road racing. The G85 Cezal RS brings that background to gravel, where the frame was designed to be light, stiff and quick over mixed terrain.
A frame made for racing
The RS frame uses a UD high modulus carbon racing lay-up, a step up from the standard G85 Cezal. Look and the cycling press report a weight saving of roughly 200 grams over the original frame, along with added stiffness at the bottom bracket and head tube. In practice, that should mean a bike that responds quickly when you stand to sprint out of a corner or push a climb on loose gravel. The seatstays use a wave shape that Look designed to add some compliance at the rear, which matters when a course turns rough.
Geometry is built for stability at speed. The head tube angle is 69.5 degrees on the XS and S, 70 degrees on the M and L, and 70.5 degrees on the XL. Chainstays are a short 425mm on every size, which keeps the rear end tight and helps the bike change direction without feeling nervous. Our size M has a 380mm reach and 590mm stack, a position that is fairly upright for a race bike and easier to hold on long days.
Clearance for the course you pick
Look rates the frame for tires up to 57mm wide at the front and 50mm at the rear with this 1x drivetrain. This build ships with Hutchinson Touareg Race 700x45 tires, a fast-rolling gravel race tire, and the frame leaves room to go wider when the terrain gets looser. The bike uses a T47 threaded bottom bracket and a Look LS1 UD carbon seatpost, and the frame is designed to work with suspension forks, so you can adapt it as your riding changes.
The wheels are Fulcrum Sharq C25, a 42mm-deep 700c set. That depth gives a measure of aero benefit on fast, open sections without making the bike hard to handle in crosswinds, which suits a bike that will see both gravel roads and pavement connectors.
SRAM Red XPLR AXS, 1x13
The drivetrain is SRAM's top-tier gravel group. A Red AXS XPLR E1 rear derailleur moves the chain across an XG-1391 13-speed cassette with a 10-46 range, paired with a 42-tooth Red AXS XPLR E1 chainring up front. That gives you a tall top gear for descents and tailwind stretches and a low enough bottom gear for steep, loose climbs. Shifting is wireless, so there are no shift cables to route or keep tidy. Braking comes from SRAM Red AXS E1 hydraulic disc calipers, controlled by Red AXS E1 levers.
Cockpit and fit
The Look Aero Carbon stem and RS3 handlebar give the front end a clean, aero-shaped look. Stem length scales with frame size, from 80mm on the XS and S to 120mm on the XL, and handlebar width goes from 40cm on the XS and S to 44cm on the XL. A Selle Italia SLR Off Road saddle completes the build. The bike comes in XS through XL and in a Chrome Orange and Black Carbon finish. Pedals are not included, so you can fit the system you already ride.
The G85 Cezal RS Red XPLR AXS suits riders who race gravel events or ride them hard and want a lightweight carbon frame with the best wireless group SRAM makes for the category. It is a serious bike at a serious price, and it rewards a rider who wants the fastest setup available.
