Colnago C68 Rossa Limited Edition Bike Info

The Colnago C68 Rossa Limited Edition Bike is a numbered Colnago road bike made to mark La Vuelta's 90th anniversary and its first official start in Turin. Only 90 will ever be made, and each is numbered on the fork. It is the third in a series of limited editions for the Grand Tours, after the Gioiello for the 2023 Giro and the Fleur-de-Lys for the 2024 Tour, and it pairs an elaborate paint scheme with a full Dura-Ace Di2 race build.

A Finish Built Around Turin and Spain

The color is Candy Red, a transparent red with ruby and garnet tones, laid over silver metal leaf that is applied by hand to every frame. Colnago ties the shade to the red Giuseppe Saronni made famous on his bikes in the early 1980s. The graphics draw on both host regions. A bull, a symbol shared by Turin and Spanish culture, appears across the bike, including on the bottle cage screws. A rhombus pattern, taken from the floor of the Galleria Grande at the Reggia di Venaria near Turin, repeats on the saddle and the bar tape. The bottle cages are a replica of the La Vuelta trophy, and the Colnago x La Vuelta logo sits on the CC.01 cockpit and the fork.

Each bike is hand-assembled at Colnago's factory in Cambiago, Italy, and takes about 50 hours to complete, including painting. It also comes with a commemorative book that follows the route between Turin and Spain and shows the places that inspired the design.

The C68 Frame

Underneath the paint, the C68 is built from eight modular carbon parts, bonded with a proprietary technique, not molded as one shell. It is a disc-brake frame with fully integrated cable routing and a carbon fork, and the seatpost is a D-shaped carbon design with a 15mm offset. A CeramicSpeed SLT headset and a T47 Shimano bottom bracket complete the chassis. Colnago positions the C68 as its modern race platform, and the geometry across the 48.5, 51 and 53cm sizes shows that, with a head tube angle between 71.5 and 72.5 degrees and chainstays of 408 to 414mm.

Dura-Ace Di2 and ENVE SES 4.5

The drivetrain is Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, 12-speed electronic shifting, with an 11-30 cassette and hydraulic disc brakes. Colnago and its partners added several special parts. The rear derailleur has a limited-edition CeramicSpeed OSPW pulley system, the chainrings are custom Carbon-Ti 52-36T, and the rotors are Carbon-Ti X-Rotor SteelCarbon 3, 160mm at the front and 140mm at the rear.

The wheels are ENVE SES 4.5, a deep-section aero set hand-built in Italy with limited-edition Colnago x La Vuelta graphics. They are fitted with Pirelli P Zero Race TLR SL tires in 700x28. The cockpit is Colnago's CC.01 integrated handlebar and stem, and the saddle is a limited-edition Prologo Nago R4.

Who It Suits

The C68 Rossa is for collectors who want a piece of Grand Tour history, and for riders who want a bike to race on as well. It carries a race build that holds up on a fast group ride or a mountain stage, and the numbered edition and paint make it a statement on the rack. Pedals are not included, and with only 90 made, it will not be restocked.

The RA Perspective

The C68 Rossa is a Grand Tour tribute that happens to be a proper race bike. Only 90 were made, each numbered on the fork, and it is easy to see why. The Candy Red over hand-applied silver leaf is the sort of paint that changes with the light, and the bull and rhombus details show up on the saddle, bar tape and cage screws.

Beyond the paint, the spec is what you would expect on a bike at this level. Dura-Ace Di2, ENVE SES 4.5 wheels and Colnago's CC.01 integrated cockpit make a fast, modern race setup, and the 11-30 cassette keeps the gearing usable for real climbing. The 28mm Pirelli tires are a sensible width for rough roads and long days.

There are tradeoffs to know about. It is a limited bike with a very high price, and it comes in three sizes, 48.5, 51 and 53cm, so you need to check the fit carefully. Pedals are not included. The integrated cockpit also limits how much you can change your position later.

It is best for collectors and for riders who want a numbered, race-capable Colnago. If you want a bike that stands out at the start line and still performs when the road gets steep, this is the one we would point you to.
